Born in Manchester on December 9, 1930, he was the son of Leopold G. and Lucienne (Picot) Dewyngaert. He was educated in the local school system and attended Manchester West High School.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed as a union carpenter and superintendent with Davison Construction for many years.
Maurice was a master carpenter who loved making furniture for family and friends. He enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years and spending time at the beach in both New Hampshire and Ft. Myers. He and his wife were avid travelers who were fortunate to travel both across the US and abroad. Above all else, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Florence (Levasseur) Dewyngaert of Manchester; two daughters, Denise Raymond and husband Donald of Manchester, Diane Penaskovic and husband John of Dover, NH; one son, Richard Dewyngaert and wife Stacie of Salem, NH; grandchildren, Glenn Raymond and wife Brooke, Jazzmin and Tyler Penaskovic; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd, Bedford. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
