Maurice M. Guevin

Maurice M. Guevin, 91, of Fruita, CO died June 18, 2002 in Fruita after a brief illness.

Born in Manchester on June 16, 1911, he was the son of Oscar and Herminie (Tetreault) Guevin. He lived in Manchester many years before moving to Colorado in 1976.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He later worked as a barber at several Manchester area barber shops for many years.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for over 45 years and United Commercial Travelers. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree, both in Denver, CO.

He was married to Jessie (Gardner) Guevin who died in 2000.

The family includes two daughters, Carmen Orris of Meeker, CO and Claudette Blanchette of Wilton; a son, Francis Guevin of Apache Junction, AZ; six grandchildren and eight great grandchilden; a sister, Juliette Lamy of Manchester; nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday June 22, 2002 in St. George Church, 517 Pine St., Manchester. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
