Maurice R. Guilbert

Maurice R. Guilbert, 75, of Manchester, died May 18, 2017 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a period of declining health.

He was born in Manchester on January 23, 1942 to Maurice P. and Gertrude (Gagnon) Guilbert. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

After graduating from Bishop Bradley High School in 1959, he went to work for the Union Leader Corporation in advertising and retired in 2004 after 45 years.

Maurice loved playing baseball, fast pitch softball, bowling and was an avid golfer at the Derryfield Country Club. He loved all animals, especially his Shelties. He also enjoyed the wildlife in his backyard including feeding the birds and watching their antics. He especially enjoyed wintering in Florida.

He was predeceased by a sister, Judith Howard.

The family includes his wife of 54 years, Rita (Mailhiot) Guilbert of Manchester; a brother, Gerald Guilbert and his wife, Judith, of Rotonda West, FL; a brother in-law, Roger Mailhiot and his wife, Janine, of Arizona; a sister in-law, Pauline Gekas and her husband, Paul, of Illinois; nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
