She was born December 31, 1919, in Thetford Mines, Canada, and was the daughter of Joseph and Florida (St. Hilaire) Fortin. She had been a communicant of St. Joseph Cathedral.
For many years Mella, had worked in the shoe industry in Manchester retiring in 1983.
She will be remembered for her willingness to help others, babysitting the grandchildren, playing cards, and watching horror movies. She was a loving, kind person who never minced words..
Family members include, 2 daughters, Linda Lamontange, of Manchester, Pamela Blanchette, of Allentown; 2 sons, Victor Violette, of Derry, Lawrence Violette, of Manchester; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren;several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Service of Remembrance took place Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St. corner of North, Manchester.
A Funeral Liturgy was also held on October 26th in the funeral home chapel.
Burial took place at the convenience of the family in St. Augustin Cemetery.
