Michael A. Edwards

He was born in San Diego, CA on April 10, 1951 and traveled around the country with his Naval family, attending schools in Ohio, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Maine and Florida, to name a few. Until recently, he lived in Ayer, MA.

He was an active member of the Cambridge (MA) Fire Department for 26 years. He had many hobbies, including astronomy, collecting postal stationary, metal detecting, Japanese anime and ballroom dancing.

In his life: He is survived by his beloved partner, Nancy "Sam" Urtz of Manchester, NH; his mother, Frances Nichols; his sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Thomas Beyer, both of Orange City, FL; and his 'brothers' at the Cambridge Fire Department, especially those at Engine 8, Ladder 4, Group 1. He was predeceased by his sister Melissa Rein.

A memorial service was held at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester, on Saturday, September 19th, 2009.
