Michael B. Ekman, 73, of Wilton Manors, FL died unexpectedly on December 2, 2024. He was born in Manchester, NH on April 1, 1951 to Selwyn and Eileen (Soreff) Ekman.
Michael earned a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and went on to complete Master’s degrees from Babson and Bentley colleges. He began his career as a wise investor, acquiring real estate in the metro-Boston area and building a robust portfolio. His ambition led to the corporate world in New York City where he embraced the vibrance and energy of urban life. Following an early retirement, he channeled his passion for business and finance into trading stocks and mentoring aspiring investors.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Michael enjoyed a vigorous exercise routine, theater and the arts. Young at heart, he adored brunch at diners, Thanksgiving dinner with family and coffee with friends.
Michael is survived by his twin sister, Nancy Ekman Dorner and her husband, Bruce, of Bristol, NH; a nephew, Andrew Dorner of Boston, MA; a niece, Sarah Dorner and her husband, Hugh Boddington, of Concord, NH; two grandnieces, Sybil and Miriam and a grandnephew, Samuel.
SERVICES: A cemetery committal service is Sunday, December 8 at 11 a.m. at Hebrew Cemetery, South Beech Street, Manchester, NH. Shiva, (memorial service) will be held at the Dorner-Boddington residence from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both Sunday (12/8) and Monday (12/9) evenings.
