Michael A. Lemire

Michael A. Lemire, 66, of Hooksett, died March 21, 2021 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a long period of declining health.

He was born in Manchester on June 22, 1954 to Adrien and Pauline (Renaud) Lemire. He lived in Manchester for most of his life before moving to Hooksett several years ago.

Michael was a highly skilled finish carpenter and had worked as a construction supervisor with L & B Construction Co., LLC.

He was a very active member of the American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post in Manchester where he served as commander of the Sons of the American Legion. He was also a member of the 1970 Sweeney Post baseball team that played in the American Legion World Series. He did extensive fundraising for veterans and children in the community. He was also an avid gardener.

He was predeceased by his father, Adrien "Al" Lemire in 1983.

Michael is survived by his mother, Pauline (Renaud) (Lemire) Lessard of Bedford; three siblings, Suzanne Lemire, Simonne Phelps and her husband, Wayne, and Paul Lemire and his wife, Kelly, all of Hooksett; two nieces, his Godchild, Sarah Brown and her husband, Matt, and Kristen Phelps; a nephew, Matthew
Lemire; his companion, Susan Palys Austin; and his longtime friend, Linda Gage.

SERVICES: Michael will be remembered at the regularly scheduled 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. The originally scheduled Mass of Christian Burial on June 22, 2021 has been canceled.

Memorial donations may be made the baseball program at American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post 2, 251 Maple St., Manchester, NH 03103.
