Milton G. Tobey, Sr.

Milton G. Tobey, Sr., of Manchester, died April 15, 2018 at his residence, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Manchester on July 29, 1929, he was the son of Thomas C. and Grace (Doran) Tobey. At a young age, Milton's family moved to Boston, MA, where he was educated, but then graduated from Manchester Central High School. He also attended the Maritime Academy, and then joined the US Navy in 1946. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Fireman Apprentice in 1950. Milton worked in various industries before retiring from Summa Four Co. in 1990. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Family includes his beloved wife of 68 years, Rita L. (Hebert) Tobey of Manchester; one daughter, Patricia A. and husband Keith of Hooksett; one son Milton G. Tobey, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Hooksett; two grandchildren, Christopher A. Tobey and wife Kimberly of Manchester, and Morgan Pratte of MA; one great granddaughter, Isabella Tobey; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Sylvia C. Pratte; and one son, Thomas R. Tobey.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Committal prayers with military honors followed in the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Dr., Ste. 110, Bedford, NH 03110.
