Milton S. Marks

March 31, 1931 — June 9, 2024

Bedford, NH

Milton S. Marks, 93, of Bedford, passed on June 9, 2024 after a period of declining health.

Born in Worcester, MA on January 31, 1931 to Thomas and Ann (Siff) Marks, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Clark University in Worcester, MA and lived in Bedford for over 50 years. He proudly served in the U. S. Navy for three years during the Korean War.

Milton worked for Brown Shoe Company for over 35 years as a sales representative throughout northern New England.

Milton loved his family with all his heart, sharing many wonderful memories with his wife Doris, his children, and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed helping his wife run her antique business and setting up at antique shows. He also enjoyed having breakfast with family at his favorite diners, vacations to Owl’s Head, ME, going out for coffee and the newspaper, driving just about anywhere and simply spending time with his family.

As Milton aged, his quiet strength and twinkle in his eye remained. His mind was as sharp as ever and his love of new things never diminished. During conversations, he made you feel important by asking question after question about you and your family.

He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Beth Temma Marks; siblings, David Marks and Marilyn Goodwin and nephew, Thomas Goodwin.

Milton is survived by his wife of 65 years Doris S. (Raduziner) Marks of Bedford; two children, Debra Marks Hanafin and her husband, Joseph Hanafin, of Andover, MA and Shelly Marks and her partner, Michael Dambach, of North Andover, MA; two grandchildren, Gregory Hanafin and his fiancee, Emma McCabe and Brian Hanafin and his wife, Kelly; three nieces, Melissa Silk, Amy Cohen and Lisa Davis and cousin, Elaine Driben. He will be greatly missed.

There will be no services, as Milton’s wishes were for his beloved family to gather for a private celebration of life.

Memorial donations may be made in Milton’s memory to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester MA, 01609 or www.JHCCenter.org

Lambert Funeral Home and Crematory, Manchester is assisting the family with arrangements.
