Monica “Nicky” Trahan, 70, of Hooksett, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, her caregiver, and members of The Moore House Team.
Nicky was born in Central Falls, RI on April 30, 1955, to the late Robert and Dorothy (St Pierre). She spent her early years in Plainville, MA and moved to South Attleboro, MA in 1960. She attended Our Lady of Consolation in Pawtucket, RI, for her early grade school years before transferring to the Attleboro Public School system. Due to a playground accident when she was a young girl, Nicky traveled with (and overcame) some obstacles and graduated Attleboro High School class of 1975 with her sister, Margaret “Peggy” (Brousseau).
In late 1978, The Trahans bought a house in Bedford, NH, and by Spring 1979, the family was finally settled in. In the following years, Nicky became active with The Moore Center in Manchester, NH, working a variety of jobs as well as doing volunteer work.
Nicky loved artwork and would often doodle, sketch, paint, or do light portraits and caricatures. Monica loved early television shows like I Love Lucy and got a big kick out of sitcoms from the 60s & 70s. She also liked attending live theatre events at The Palace or Majestic Theatres with her parents.
Nicky was a huge fan of Bob Denver, Davy Jones, David Cassidy, Bobby Sherman, and Jonathan Frid (Barnabas Collins) to name a few. (Speaking of which, she probably hopes to meet Frid and other vampires in Heaven, perhaps not fully comprehending the whole Vampire-Heaven-undead thing.) She also loved spending time with her family, her caregivers, and other clients in The Moore Center.
Monica is survived by a brother Gary “Gare” of Deerfield, NH; a sister Margaret “Peggie” (Brousseau) of Attleboro, MA; niece Erin (Hanson) & her husband Chris, their daughter Ava and son Noah, of Attleboro, MA; nephew Henri (Brousseau), and his wife Olivia, and their daughters, Nessa & Alice of Middleboro, MA; niece Rachel, and her daughter Felicity, of Nicholasville, KY; and nephew, Joshua, of Chicago, IL.
She was predeceased by her brother Robert Jr (2016), parents Robert Sr (2017) & Dorothy (2021). Not enough can be said about The Moore Center in Manchester. Their staff and programs were instrumental in providing guidance and programs that filled Nicky’s adult life for over 40 years.
SERVICES: Friends and family are invited to a visiting hour on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 12pm to 1pm with a funeral service to start promptly at 1pm, at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester, NH.
