Monique (Gilbert) Harrison, 81, of Manchester, died May 10, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a period declining health.
She was born in Lewiston, ME on March 14, 1935 to Ralph and Simone (Mercier) Gilbert. She grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Auburn Maine School of Commerce in 1953. She worked as a legal secretary in Lewiston for several years before moving to Manchester in 1957.
An avid bridge player, Monique was happiest when she and her husband were surrounded by her children and grandchildren in Manchester and Rye.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Robert J. Harrison in 2009 and by her brother, Michael J. Gilbert.
The family includes four children, David Harrison of Belmont, MA, Gregory Harrison and his wife, Kathleen, of Okemos, MI, Elizabeth Cutliffe and her husband, Laurence, of New Castle and Thomas Harrison and his wife, Christen, of Andover, MA; six grandchildren, Douglas Harrison, Elizabeth Harrison, William Harrison, Noel Harrison, Jessica Cutliffe and Jennifer Cutliffe; a sister, Suzanne Corcoran of Windham; and a niece and three nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
