Muriel Mary (Montplaisir) Archambault was born in Manchester on February 6, 1926 and passed peacefully after a debilitating health and a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease on Friday, September 8th, 2017.
Growing up in the US during the depression, Muriel and her family endured hardships and life struggles which made her resilient and tough to face challenging times ahead including being a single mom.
After graduating high school, Muriel worked at the telephone company, followed her heart, married and had three children. In later years she worked in a school cafeteria serving lunch to students and teachers. Children were always at the center of her life.
Never missing a beat or a utility bill payment, Muriel always took loving care of her children and provided a good home and well balanced life for them. The feeling that she always had more love to give blossomed into her interest and devotion of accepting other children with misplaced lives into her home and care for their well being as a foster parent.
Muriel's personal interests and hobbies in her life included art, painting, cooking and collecting many antiques. She loved the ocean and the coast of Maine. Her love of pets was shared with several dogs her family enjoyed over the years.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Suzette Archambault in 2014.
Muriel leaves behind a son, Duane Archambault (spouse, Cheryl Archambault) of Manchester; grandchildren, Erica (Archambault) Rowell (spouse, Eric Rowell), and Carrie A (Archambault) Winn (spouse, Jason Winn); a great grandson, Connor: and a sister, Lorraine Demers of Manchester.
The family wishes to thank the staffs at Hillsborough County Nursing Home and Home Health & Hospice Care for their love, dedication and family support.
A funeral ceremony was held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Private burial is at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.
