Muriel Jean Smith, 89, of Epsom died October 12, 2016 at Epsom Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Manchester on February 27, 1927, she was the daughter of John and Erma (Brown) Robinson. Jean was a graduate of Manchester Central High School and a lifelong resident of the area. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Manchester Oxygen Company, serving as office manager and bookkeeper for 30 years, retiring in 1988.
Jean was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years after retirement and a member of a senior bowling league. She enjoyed reading and walking in her spare time. She was very maternal, had a good sense of humor and was very generous. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband Earl "Bud" Smith in 1983, daughter Donna Nawoj in 2012, and son Kenneth Dale Smith in 2010.
Family members include three daughters, Sheila Malynowski and husband Steve of Sanbornville, Cheryl Grandmaison and husband Raymond of Raymond, and Cindy O'Leary of Raymond; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 in the chapel at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
