Nabil Migalli

Nabil Migalli, 79, of Manchester died December 6th, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Cairo, Egypt on January 7, 1937, he was the son of Migalli and Labibe (Misak) Awad. He earned his bachelor's degree in social work from the Cairo School of Social Work and his master's equivalent from the Institute of National Planning (INP) in Cairo. He also earned a bachelor's in art from Cairo University.
Most recently, he had been a self-employed consultant operating Nabil Migalli and Associates, specializing in training, consulting and translations. Additionally he was working as an Arabic interpreter for Ascentria Care Alliance and also served individuals with disabilities as the Staff Development Manager for Moore Center Services.
A social worker who is passionate about the people he serves, Nabil had developed a reputation for being a persistent advocate for his clients since he arrived in New Hampshire in 1982 at the age of 45.
He was honored this year with the 2016 Granite State Legacy Award, which celebrates the accomplishments of the state's most distinguished citizens who have given the most to New Hampshire through business, philanthropy, politics and career. He has served as secretary of the Community Advisory Board initiated by the Manchester Police Department, acting as a bridge between police and the community at large. In this capacity, he created the Youth Leadership Academy, where students learn about law enforcement and judicial operations.
He recently received the Oath of Office on the Commission of Arts for the City of Manchester. He also was a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce Greater Manchester Leadership Program for the year 2016. He also was the recipient of the Martin Luther King Jr Award in 1997.
He was predeceased by his brother Noshi Migalli Awad and his sister Naiema Migalli Awad.
Family members include his loving wife of nearly 35 years, Anne-Marie Chagnon-Migalli of Manchester; his nephews and nieces, Nagy Tawfik, Nagwa Tawfik, Maged Awad and family, Minerva and Moona Awad and their families; many dear friends.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Marie Duclos and her husband John of Manchester, and their children, Marc Duclos and wife Kathleen, and their children Nicholas and Delaney, Sean Duclos and companion Melissa Gilbert and his children, Madison and Carter, Eric Duclos and his wife Julie and their children, Samantha, Kara (predeceased), and Liam, Nicole Pukstas and her husband David and their children, David (predeceased), Sarah and Emily Anne.
His brother-in-law, Jean Chagnon and his wife Cindy and their children, Christopher and wife Mayte and their children, Alexander and his sister Lizzie, Ginny Scease and her husband Andrew and their children, Riley and Finnegan.
His brother-in-law, Richard Chagnon and his wife Lucille (predeceased) and their children, David Chagnon and his wife Rita and their children, Evan and Aiden, Daniel Chagnon and his children Sierra and Gavin.
The funeral service was held on Monday, December 12, 2016 in Our Lady of the Cedars Church, Mitchell St, Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
