Nancy Ellen (Severance) (Albin) Quimby, age 85, passed on October 12th 2022 peacefully with her family by her side.
Nancy was born at her childhood home in Londonderry, NH on January 20th 1937. She was the daughter of Charles L. and Irma (Watson) Severance.
As a teenager, she worked every summer for Klev Bros Shoe Company. She also drove the farm truck in the fields while her siblings loaded the hay.
She graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1956. After graduation, she worked for Marion Electric at Grenier Air Base in Manchester, NH. Later she worked at Honeywell
Electronics and Raytheon. She retired in 1983 to take care of her grandson.
She and her beloved husband Ronnie attended horse pulling events throughout New England and traveled to Florida in the winters. She spent many weekends at their camp on Nash Stream. After living many years in Nottingham, NH, they moved to their retirement home in Stark, NH where they enjoyed the north country life and their good friends and neighbors.
Nancy loved to cook, bake and garden. Her home was a loving gathering place. Anyone who came to visit knew there would be something delicious to eat. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and hummingbirds.
She was predeceased by her husband Ronald H. Quimby who passed in 2010, her grandson Jonathan Albin in 2007, and her granddaughter Jessica Petroski in 2019. She was the last survivor of Severance children.
She is survived by her daughters Tammy Petroski and Brenda Albin of Hooksett, NH, sons Keith Quimby and Lili of Auburn, NH and James Quimby & Isabelle of Nottingham, NH, grandchildren: Anthony & Ainsley Petroski, Jennifer & Scott Bishop, Christopher & Kayla Quimby, Nicholas Quimby, Kasey Quimby, Zach Quimby, Kayla & Tim Bapp and Preston Quimby and 5 great grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be at Lambert Funeral Home, 1799 Elm Street in Manchester, NH on Monday, October 17th from 10am to 1pm, immediately followed by a graveside service at Martin’s Cemetery, 6 Cemetery Rd., in Hooksett, NH.
In lieu of flowers, Nancy requested donations be made to: Make a Wish Foundation.
