Nancy Suzanne Tyrie

Nancy Suzanne (Still) Tyrie, 83, of Bedford, NH died September 24, 2022 at her residence with her loving husband by her side.

            Born in Syosset, Long Island, NY on August 25, 1939, she was the daughter of Ralph and Ione Still.  She graduated from Oyster Bay High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania.

            The Town of Bedford knew her as Sue or Mrs. Tyrie.  She was a friend who always greeted you with a warm, reassuring smile.

            Sue’s passion in life was not only for her family and her dogs but also for her unwavering dedication to her students and parents.  She achieved her lifelong goal of educating children by establishing the Bedford Village Morning School which has served over 1750 families since its conception in 1977.

            She was poised with amazing grace and infinite compassion.  She will be remembered for her love of family and her dogs and her dedication to the children of the community.

            Family members include her husband of 60 years, James Campbell Tyrie of Bedford; her daughter, Michele Tyrie of Holderness, NH; her son, David Tyrie and wife Sally of Needham, MA; her grandchildren, Jordan and Samantha Meier and Baylor, Jack, Devon and Reese Tyrie; her brother, David Still and wife Pam of Bedford; her beloved dogs, Murphy and Sully.

            In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to a “Celebration of Life” gathering on November 5^th, 2022 to be held at the Manchester Country Club from 5 to 8 pm.
