Nathalie Graven Dutra, 78, of Bedford, NH and longtime resident of Manhasset, NY died November 1, 2005 at a Bedford, NH nursing facility.
She was born in Holland on January 29, 1927, the daughter of Joseph and Annette (Knipping) Graven. She attended the University of Fribourg, Switzerland.
She spent her early years in Switzerland and Holland before emigrating to the United States in 1951. After moving to the US, she met and married her husband, Commander (Ret.) John E. Dutra. Prior to moving to New Hampshire, they had resided in California, Hawaii, Japan, and New York.
Mrs. Dutra played an active role in her husband's military career. In addition to caring for her family, she had been employed by Bonwit Teller in Manhasset, NY. She also was an active volunteer at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY, where she ran the gift shop and served as president of the hospital's guild. Nathalie's love for her family and pets were obvious to all who knew her.
Members of her family include her husband, Commander (Ret.) John E. Dutra of Bedford, NH; two sons, John E. Dutra IV of Bedford, NH, and Daniel E. Dutra of Londonderry, NH; a daughter, Michelle A. Dutra of Centennial, CO; 4 grandchildren; a sister, Antoinnette Perkins of South Dennis, MA; 4 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Graven.
Funeral services were private at the convenience of the family.
