Nicholas J. Mazzone, Jr., 91, of Manchester, died January 22, 2023 at his home after a brief illness.
He was born in Everett, MA on April 14, 1931 to Nicholas and Angela (Guarino) Mazzone. He lived in Wakefield, MA for 40 years and Pinellas Park, FL for 12 years before moving to Manchester. He served in the U.S. Army for three years.
Nicholas retired as the head draftsman at BSC in Bedford, MA.
He had been a member of the Elks Club in Florida and a former president of the Stoneham (MA) Coin Club. He enjoyed golfing with his family and traveling.
He was predeceased by his parents and three siblings, Joseph Mazzone, Rosemary Messouri and Celeste Boucher.
Nicholas is survived by his wife of 40 years, Laureen (Dion) Mazzone; a daughter, Lynn Ann Sutch; a son, Frank Mazzone and his wife, Donna; five grandchildren, Martin J. Halleran and his wife, Rosann, Christopher Johnson and his husband, David, Frank Mazzone and his wife, Amanda, Justin Mazzone and Anthony Mazzone; four great grandchildren, Jacob Mazzone, Vinny Mazzone, Julien Mazzone and Marty Halleran; a sister, Candace Valley and her husband, Arthur; cousins and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Tuesday (1/31) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (2/1) at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine Church, 267 Webster St., Manchester. Private burial will be at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at the convenience of the family.
