Norma M. (Freese) Lang, 94, of Goffstown, NH died April 12, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Born in Manchester on November 30, 1927, she was the daughter of Albert and Gladys (Bennett) Freese, She graduated from Manchester Central High School, Class of 1945.
Norma and her husband, Michael, owned and operated Lang's Ice Cream stand in Pembroke for many years. She was one of the first female deacons at South Main St. Congregational Church in Manchester. She also was a founding member of Manchester West High School PTA.
Norma loved to laugh and was always ready to help others. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. After retirement, Norma and Mike spent many hours golfing, playing cards with friends and traveling to Florida for the winter.
After 72 years of marriage, Norma was predeceased by her husband, Michael C. Lang. Her oldest son, Rev. Allen Lang passed away in 2017.
Surviving family members include her brother Lloyd Freese and Judy Foley of Manchester, daughter Gail Lang of Goffstown, son Jeffrey Lang and wife Patricia Sullivan of Naples, ME, and daughter-in-law Carol Lang McKay of Culpepper, VA. She is also survived by granddaughters Kathryn Alexander and husband John of Annandale, VA, Elizabeth Fowkes and husband Mark of Nottingham, England, and Samantha Busenhart and husband Michael of Edwards, CO. Norma was blessed with 6 great granddaughters: Grace, Lilly, Maddie, Eleanor, Cecilia, and Mary. She is also survived by her nephew Gary Freese and wife Janet and niece Karen Wilson and husband Steve.
Service to be held on Friday, April 22nd at Lambert Funeral Home and Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St. A visiting hour will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am with a memorial service following at 11:00 am. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford will be held at a later date.
