He was born in Manchester on May 25, 1945, the son of the late Ernest and Aurore (Sills) Scarlett. Norman attended Memorial High School and was later educated in plumbing and heating. As a young man, he served in the Army Reserves and the Coast Guard for 4 years. He helped to build the Vermont Yankee Nuclear plant during his plumbing years and later went on to build many homes in southern NH. Norman was talented with the acoustic guitar, a hockey coach when his son was young, an avid gardener, a master plumber and also the proud owner of Scarlett Homes, Inc. for 31 years. He was self employed during his working career, building homes for his company, Scarlett Homes Inc.
Norman is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly 49 years, Jeanette (Vaillancourt) Scarlett; his son Gregory P. Scarlett and wife Krista Rocca Scarlett of Dunbarton; his twin daughters Stacy Scarlett Martin and husband Roland Martin of Manchester, and Tracy Scarlett Molloy and husband Daniel Molloy of Manchester. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Christian, Cameron and Caleb Scarlett; and Ava and Ethan Hartshorn; sister Anita Scarlett Laventure of AZ; his brothers Paul Scarlett and wife Jane of Manchester, and Andy Scarlett and wife Suzanne of FL; his sisters-in-law, Corine and Suzanne Scarlett both of Manchester; and countless nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both parents; and his brothers Henry and Denis Scarlett.
Norman will be remembered for his witty, dry sense of humor down to his last days as well as his gentle and kind nature. Over all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be loved and missed forever.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 207 Hemlock St., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave, Ste. 550, Chicago, IL 60631.
