Normand J. Labrie, 64, of Manchester, died December 12, 2016 at his home after a long illness. His deep religious faith carried him through his illness.
He was born in Manchester on May 25, 1952 to Albert and Marie Anne (Dionne) Labrie. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the 1970's.
Normand worked at the VA Medical Center in Manchester for many years. He had coached Little League baseball and youth soccer. He enjoyed gardening, drinking coffee, building model cars, carpentry, golf, trips to CVS and Home Depot and he was an avid New England pro sports fan. He especially enjoyed his annual Memorial Day fishing trip with friends.
The family includes his former wife, Donna Velt of Manchester; three children, Jordan Labrie and his wife, Aron, of Manchester, Melissa Labrie and her partner, Steven Soba, of Bethlehem, PA and Alexander Labrie and his fiancé, Jessica DeGirolamo, of Manchester; a grandson, Adrian Labrie of Manchester; five siblings, Pauline Guillemette and her husband, Raymond, of Hooksett, Marie Gendron and her husband, Robert, and Therese Fortier and her husband, Leo Sr. all of Manchester, Doris Simard and her husband, George, of Litchfield and Claire Edwards of Parsonsfield, ME; two sisters-in-law, Rita Labrie and Irene Labrie both of Manchester; cousins, nieces and nephews; and two best friends, Dennis Gransewich and his wife, Pat, of Massachusetts and Jim Laliberte and his wife, Joan, of Florida.
He was predeceased by his parents and three siblings, Robert Labrie, Andy Labrie, Andre Labrie; and his brother-in-law, Rocky Edwards.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at St. Pius Church, 575 Candia Rd, Manchester followed immediately by a private burial.
