Odile J. (Desilets) (Mullen) Ackerson, 86, of Manchester died January 6, 2002 at Villa Crest Retirement Center after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, MA on September 18, 1915, she was the daughter of Horace and Martha (Grimshaw) Desilets. She graduated from Manchester Central High School and lived most of her life in Manchester.
Mrs. Ackerson worked at New England Telephone Company, Silver Brothers, Manchester Bank and Senak Company for many years.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph Cathedral and had volunteered at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Manchester for several years.
She was married to Walter P. Mullen Jr. who died in 1962, and Elmer R. Ackerson Sr. who died in 1987.
The family includes two daughters, Marcia Stone of Manchester and Cynthia Lamey of Bedford; two stepsons, Robert Ackerson of Bedford and Elmer R. Ackerson Jr. of Manchester; three grandsons; two great granddaughters; five step grandchildren; a brother, Albert Desilets of Manchester; several nieces and nephews.
A calling hour was January 9, 2002 in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. A mass of Christian burial followed on the same day in St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel, Lowell St., Manchester. After cremation, burial of cremated remains will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
