Oscar E. deRepentigny

July 18, 1925 — August 6, 2018

Oscar E. deRepentigny of Manchester passed peacefully on August 6th, 2018 at the Jack Byrnes Center for Palliative & Hospice Care at the age of 93.
He was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on July 18th, 1925, the son of Osias and Bernadette (Robert) deRepentigny.

At the tender age of 17, Oscar enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in WWII and served in the 2ndDivision on the U.S.S. Samuel Chase. After his four years exploring the world overseas in the coast guard, Oscar returned to Manchester to care for his ailing mother whom he adored . In his career as a barber he was known by many as "Oscar the barber" for most of his 40 years as owner of Oscars Professional Barber housed within the Manchester YMCA.

Oscar was an enthusiastic athlete, starting a bodybuilding club, teaching tennis, horseback riding, skiing & also loved to bowl. Later in life he fell in love with golf. Oscar was an affectionate individual which was shown in his love for his late wife, Ann deRepentigny, whom he was married to for thirty years. After retirement he and his wife were able to travel and often spent time with Ann's family in Florida. In his later years, Oscar enjoyed spending time with his family, clad in a cowboy hat... appreciating a car ride to the beach, always enjoying his ice cream (maple walnut was one of his favorites),watching a horse show at the Deerfield Fair or eating heartily surrounded by family at a cookout, savoring the heat of the summer.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 30 years Ann (Connerton Paine), adoptive daughter Debra, and by all eight of his siblings: Ruben, Rene, Robert, Jean and Gerald deRepentigny, Loretta Dupuis, Yvette Boulanger and Rita Allard, as well as his wife Ann deRepentigny.

Oscar's family includes his two daughters, Lisa Sarette and fiance John Wallace of Manchester, Dawna Malouin and husband Todd Malouin (for whom he had a great affection) of Bedford; son Anthony deRepentigny of Manchester; his step children Willard, Jonathan, and Edward Paine, MaryAnn Harmon, and Cathy Miller (all of FL) and their respective families, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His kind smile and gentle voice endeared all to Oscar and will forever be etched into our hearts.
