Oscar Morin Jr., 87, of Hooksett, N.H. and Safety Harbor, Fl, passed away after a long illness on December 10, 2011. He was born in Manchester, NH November 14, 1924 and was predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Blanche (Lemay) Morin, a sister, Claire Archambault, a brother, Robert Morin all of Hooksett, N.H.

He leaves his loving wife of 65 years, Laurette (Bernard) Morin of Safety Harbor, Fl; a son, Richard Morin and his wife, Kerin, of Weeki Wachee, Fl; a daughter, Carol Morin and her partner, Linda Riedle, of Safety Harbor, Fl; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, all of N.H.

Mr Morin retired after 30 years as an installer for NE Telephone Co.

He served his country as a Navy Seabee during WWII.

Mr Morin spent many years as an elected official in the town of Hooksett, N.H. For his dedication to his town he was honored as Hooksett's Citizen of the Year in 1966.

During his retirement years, fishing was his favorite pastime and he traveled to some of the best fishing areas in N.H. and Canada.

In his advancing years he always read the Hooksett Banner to keep informed of his towns progress.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

The family requests any memorial donations be made to the Blanche and Oscar Morin Memorial Fund at the Hooksett Public Library, 31 Mount Saint Mary's Way, Hooksett, N.H. 03106.
