Patricia Jane (Carty) Crotty, 80, of Manchester, passed away September 27, 2014 at Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Manchester after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Burlington, VT on March 11, 1934 to Robert and Dorothy (Carlin) Carty. She graduated from Notre Dame College, Magna Cum Laude in 1956 and lived in Manchester for most of her life.

Patricia was a teacher in the Manchester School District for many years. She enjoyed swimming and had been a life guard in her earlier years. She also enjoyed reading, bowling, square dancing and playing tennis. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all of them.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Crotty; a son, Joseph Crotty and by four siblings, Dorothy Cerro, Rev. Robert Carty, Kathleen Fenner and William Carty.

The family includes three children, Colleen Harriman-May and her husband, Ed, of Nottingham, Michael Crotty of Huntington Beach, CA and Kathleen Peirce and her husband, Thomas, of Auburn; five grandchildren, Emily Harriman, Scott Crotty, Joseph Crotty and his wife, Mary, Timothy Peirce and Matthew Peirce; a great granddaughter, Ella Crotty; two sisters, Marguerite Manseau of Rockville, CT and Elizabeth Long of Newburyport, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
