Patricia Ann Huot, 54, of 62 Walker St. died in her home on Sunday, March 17, 2002. She was born in Plymouth NH on June 1, 1947, the daughter of Roger Hawkins Sr. and Nina (Avery) Hawkins of New Hampton. She attended Laconia schools, graduating from Laconia High School in 1965. After receiving an Ed.B degree from Keene State College in 1969, she joined the faculty of Laconia High School where she became head of the Home Economics Department.

Mrs. Huot interrupted her teaching career in March of 1983 after the birth of her son, Matthew and resumed teaching part-time at Laconia High School in 1992. From 1996 to 1999 she taught Family and Consumer Science at Merrimack Valley Regional High School in Penacook until she accepted the position of Early Childhood Education teacher at the J. Oliva Huot Technical Center in Laconia in 1999, a position she occupied at the time of her death. She was a member a member of the NH Association of Consumer and Family Sciences, having served as a Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors. She was also a member of the national Association of Consumer and Family Sciences.

A member of the Congregational Church of Laconia, Mrs. Huot was also a former member of the Troop Committee of the church's Troop #143, Boy Scouts of America. She also served as a member of the Laconia High School Parent Advisory Committee and a member of the Craft Committee that established the Food Service Program at the J, Oliva Huot Technical Center. She also developed the curriculum for a joint program between the Laconia High School and the J. Oliva Huot Technical Center called " The Nanny Connection" and obtained a grant for its establishment. An accomplished seamstress, Mrs. Huot served as costume designer for many theatrical performances at Laconia High School and for Laconia's Christmas Village. In addition, she turned the unused design for the City of Laconia flag into a hand-made flag that was proudly carried down O'Connell Street by the Laconia High School Band in the City of Dublin's St. Patrick's Day Parade, March 17, 1974.

Mrs. Huot is survived by her husband, David O. Huot of Laconia; a son, Matthew D. Huot, a freshman at Georgetown University in Washington DC. She is also survived by her parents of New Hampton; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger F. Hawkins, Jr. and Joanne Hawkins of Meredith; three nieces, Denise Hawkins and Heidi Taylor, both of Meredith and Michelle Martin of Sandwich NH; four great nieces and nephews, Kaila Martin and Hunter Martin of Sandwich and Logan Taylor and Quinn Taylor of Meredith; and twenty cousins.

The funeral service was held in the Congregation Church of Laconia, 18 Veterans Sq. on Wednesday March 27, 2002 The Reverend David A. Travers, Senior Pastor will officiate. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations friends are invited to make contributions to the New Hampshire Humane Society, Post Office Box 572, Laconia NH 03247-0572. David L. Furber and Timothy C. Molan are the funeral directors.
