Born in Jamestown, OH on May 1, 1920, she was the daughter of Howard and Flossie (Ritenour) Moorman. She lived in North Falmouth, MA over 50 years before moving to Bedford in 2005.
She earned masters degrees from American International College and Bridgewater State College. She taught English in the Falmouth school system for over 40 years.
While in North Falmouth she was in the choir at the First Congregational Church and was a member of the Grange Hall. She coached girls basketball in college. As a member of Plough Shares, she helped build a peace park in Russia.
She was an avid gardener.
The family includes a niece, Lauris Simon and her husband, Ian, of Merrimack, NH; two great nieces, Jennifer Bray and Brenda Victor; and a great nephew, Matthew Fox.
