Paul T. Adams, 90, of Manchester, NH passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at home, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family, with the invaluable support of Hospice of Manchester.
The son of the late Tyler and Alvina Adams, he was born in Lowell, MA on December 9, 1934. As a young man, Paul served honorably in the United States Army. He then found his vocation when he joined the Lowell Fire Department, where he rose through the ranks, repeatedly topping the firefighter’s exam, and eventually became Deputy Fire Chief. During his long firefighting career, Paul won the respect of his colleagues for his skill and bravery. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Firefighting Sciences at Northern Essex Community College.
Paul loved spending time with his beloved wife, Sally, going out to dinner, traveling around extensively, and being together at home. He also looked forward to visits and calls with his kids and to family time together at Brown’s Lobster Pound at Hampton Beach. For many years, he had a passion for skiing and enjoyed golf outings with his buddies from the fire department. And he adored his and Sally’s golden retrievers, first Ben, then Sam, and finally Dublin or Waggy Tail.
Along with his parents, Paul was pre-deceased by his siblings Gerald, Russell, and Bernadette Adams; Pauline Howard, Ruth Gallagher, and Jacqueline LaFrance, and his grand-daughter Elizabeth Schickel. He is survived by his wife Sally Adams of Manchester, NH; his children, Michael Adams (Fred Davie), Kathleen (Adams) Schickel (Abraham Schickel), Phillip Adams (Robin Adams), and Maureen (Adams) Walsh (Christopher Walsh); and Karen Turcotte; his thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
