Paul H. Baker, 80, of Manchester, died September 24, 2009, at the Elliot Hospital, following a brief illness.

He was born May 25, 1929, and was the son of Samuel and Yvonne Baker. Paul served during the Korean War as a boiler man aboard the USS Hawkins. Following his honorable discharge he went on to work as a boiler man, for several companies throughout the Northeast. Later he worked at the Youth Development Center for seven years.

During his retirement he lived in FL for fourteen years, moving back to NH in 2005.

He was an avid baseball fan, in particular the Boston Red Sox, and Chicago Cubs. Paul was a member of the Alpine club, the Jutras Post, and the VFW.

Family members include his wife of 22 years, Lucille (Demers) Baker, of Manchester; his children, Paul H. Baker II, of KY, Jeannette DeFourge, of MS, Paul Camire, Judith Martin, Susan Shepherd, David Camire, all of Manchester, Chris Camire, of Sharon; 22 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Samuel Baker, of VT; he was predeceased by his first wife Albertine Baker in 1983.

A Funeral Mass of Christian burial took place at the Parish of the Transfiguration Church, Kelly St. Manchester on Wednesday, September 30, 2009.

The committal service took place at the Mt. Calvary Mausoleum chapel, Goffstown Rd. Manchester.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations are asked to be made to the Liberty House 75 W Baker St., Manchester, NH 03103-7235.
