Paul S. Bouchard

August 20, 1935 — June 24, 2018

Paul Sylvio Bouchard, 82, of Hampton, NH passed on June 24, 2018 at Exeter Hospital of complications with pneumonia and Parkinson's Disease.

He was born in Manchester, NH on August 20, 1935 to Gustave and Eva (Douville) Bouchard.

In 1952, Paul enlisted in the NH Air National Guard. After graduating from Bishop Bradley High School in 1953, he was employed as a salesman for Robert Hall Clothes.

On a warm summer night, he set his eyes on the love of his life and began his quest to win her heart. On September 20, 1958, Paul's dream came true and he married Muriel Laure Provencher. Together they raised three sons.

In 1960, Paul began a 34 year career with Prudential Insurance Company in Bedford, NH. Shortly thereafter, he was activated in the Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Aside from being a respected businessman, he was a devoted family man who loved life to the fullest. Paul volunteered at various community events and for many years was a communicant of Ste. Marie Parish in Manchester.

The annual vacations to the beach developed into a passion for the New England Coast. In 1974, Paul and Muriel purchased their second home in Hampton, where they would eventually retire and share their love of the ocean.

Paul loved to entertain. He hosted many family celebrations and business gatherings that evolved into annual traditions. Whether it be playing Santa Claus at the family Christmas party or hosting the annual clambake, he always enjoyed being with the people he loved. Paul carried on his father's passions for gardening and woodworking. He also enjoyed drudging through the clam flats with his sons in tow, salt water fishing, and the occasional VO Manhattan with dry vermouth, lemon twist and dirty ice on the side.

For over 15 years, Paul and Muriel wintered in Florida, taking cruises, playing golf and enjoying the many special friendships they developed along the way.

The family includes his wife of 59 years, Muriel L. (Provencher) Bouchard; three sons, Marc P. Bouchard, Roger L. Bouchard and Daniel R. Bouchard and his wife, Susan; two grandsons, Matthew Bouchard and Trevor Bouchard; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his five older siblings, Maurice, Roland, Andre, Jeannette and Lucille.
