Paul T. Curtin, 87, of Bedford, died May 11, 2005, at the Elliot Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Lynn, MA January 14, 1918, and was the son of William and Mary Curtin. He was educated in the Lynn school system and received a BA from Northeastern University and an MBA from Long Island University He resided in Lynn, MA for many years and had been a Bedford resident the past 25 years.
Mr. Curtin was a US Army Air Corps veteran and served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.
He worked for Sun Oil Co. as credit manager for 41 years. He later worked as a volunteer for S.C.O.R.E. for 25 years.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Bedford. In addition he was a member of the Bedford Land Trust and the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests.
He was married to Catherine L. (Melanson) Curtin who died in 2001.
He was an avid naturalist and had a passion for golf, baseball, and was a lifelong Red Sox fan.
He was a man of God who always put his family first and was surrounded by many friends. He will be greatly missed.
He leaves three sons, Daniel R. Curtin of Georgetown, MA, Philip F. Curtin of Manchester, and Robert P. Curtin of Santos, Brazil; three grandchildren, Abby Curtin, Max Curtin, and Kendra Remian; a nephew, Bill Curtin.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday May 18, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church. Burial followed in Bedford Center Cemetery.
