Paul L. Gendron, 88, of Manchester, died September 30, 2024, at Elliot Hospital, after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester on December 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Edourd and Flore (Deshautels) Gendron. He attended St. Jean’s and St. Marie’s schools and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. Paul proudly served in the US Army, having toured in Europe for 18 months and earning the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist in 1960. He worked for Associated Grocers of New England for 38 years before retiring in 1999 and then worked for Autofair for 11 years before his final retirement in 2014.
Paul served as President of St. Vincent de Paul for 3 years. He enjoyed wood working and could fix anything. He also enjoyed time spent at the beach with his wife Dolores and a love for music. Paul had a passion for cleaning and detailing cars. He took great pride in a high gloss shine and a fresh interior. Above all else, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving family members include his wife of 63 years, Dolores L. (Gagnon) Gendron of Manchester; two sons, Mark Gendron and his wife Donna of Manchester and Daniel Gendron and wife Crisel of Nashua; two grandchildren, Christopher and Mikayla Gendron; one step grandson, Anthony Akhtar and wife Imrat Anthony; one sister, Claudette Croteau of Manchester; one brother, Leo Gendron and wife Roberta of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Cecile Gosselin; and one brother, Gerard Gendron.
SERVICES: A calling hour will take place from 10am to 11am on Friday, October 4th at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester, NH 03103. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated promptly at 11am in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Committal prayers, with military honors, to follow in the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester NH.
