Paul A. Yergeau, 93, lifelong resident of Manchester died January 17, 2018 after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester, he was the son of Hylas and Albertine (Boisvert) Yergeau. He was educated in the local school system and attended the College of St. Laurent in Montreal.
During WWII, he served in the US Army in campaigns in Normandy, Brittany and Germany, and earned the Bronze Star with cluster for meritorious achievement and the Purple Heart with two clusters for wounds suffered during the Battle of the Bulge.
Prior to retirement, Paul worked for many years as a wholesale supplier for a variety of local heating supply companies, most recently JA Marino Company.
He was a member of the American Legion, Henry J. Sweeney Post #2, the Disabled American Veterans, the Catholic War Veterans as well as the Purple Heart Association.
He will be remembered as an active man, always helping others with projects. He and his wife loved bowling and spending time with family.
Paul was the last surviving of nine siblings.
Family members include his wife of 67 years, Lillian (Boudreau) Yergeau of Manchester; his son, Paul Yergeau and wife Sharon of Bedford; his grandsons, Keith Yergeau of Bedford and Craig Yergeau of Plymouth; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, January 22, 2018 in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial with military honors followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
Flowers will be accepted. Donations may be made in his memory to Honor Flight New England, P.O. Box 16287, Hooksett, NH 03106.
