Pauline M. Desmarais, 85, of Manchester, died January 24, 2023, at Concord Hospice House, after a period of declining health, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Winooski, VT on August 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Marie Bernadette (Carreau) Rondeau. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School, class of 1955. She was employed with Manchester School District as a food service provider at Memorial High School for 10 years before retiring in 2000. Prior to that, she co-owned Appliance Land with her late husband Roger.
Pauline enjoyed reading, working on crafts, square dancing, puzzles and camping, along with playing cards and visiting with friends. Over the past years, she enjoyed special visits from her niece, Denise Couture trading books and puzzles. Spending time at Horace Lake with her family and the Harris family was dearly treasured. Pauline was caring, funny, and strong willed. Above all else, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Roger P. Desmarais in 2018.
Surviving family members include her four children, Paul Desmarais and wife Karen of Manchester, Lorraine Parent of Manchester, Charles Desmarais and wife Patty of NC, and Andre Desmarais and wife Shelley of NC; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Timothy, Krisandra, Danielle, Andre, Jonah, and Joshua; nine great grandchildren, Alexis, Alissa, Hailey, Oliver, Eliana, Eleanor, Landon, Gracie, and Beckham. After the death of her sister Rita, Pauline raised her nephew Richard LeBlanc and niece the late Rachel Marsh.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, February 21st at St. Peters Church, 567 Manchester Rd., Auburn, NH. Pauline will be laid to rest, with her husband at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 1210 DW Highway, Boscawen, NH at 12 noon on February 21st . As a request of Pauline, please do not wear black, bright colors only to celebrate her bright light!
