Pauline (Simard) Gagne, 92, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025 surrounded by family.
She was born in Manchester on February 7, 1933 to Romeo and Grace (Bourget) Simard. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
As a dedicated mother to eight children, she also earned a master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire. She went on to teach in the Manchester School District, including St. Augustin School and Beech Street School. She later became supervisor of the Chapter One Program For Reading in Manchester. Her positive influence on the lives of her students was evident. Many visited her after finishing their studies to express their gratitude and say hello.
Throughout her life and career, Pauline was an active member of the National Education Association, the Alpine Club Drum and Bugle Corps and filled her days with many hobbies and interests, including her volunteer work with the Cub Scouts.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Roger A. Gagne in 2010; three children, Marguerite Gagne in 1954, Charles Gagne in 1999 and Celeste Gagne in 2004; and two siblings, Robert Simard and Irene Boucher.
Pauline is survived by five children, Paul Gagne and his wife, Kathy, Norman Gagne and his wife Helene, Lisa Pierce and her husband, Steven, Gisele Keffersten and her husband, Joel and Marc Gagne and his wife, Kristen; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Andrew Simard and cousins, nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Friday, September 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Private burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.
