A native of Manchester, NH, he was a veteran of WWII, a graduate of St Anselm's and the Loyola School of Dentistry (Chicago). He had a dental practice for over 40 years.
He was a fellow of the American College of Dentists, past president of the NH Dental Society, a founding member of the Delta Dental Group, and past Chairman of the Manchester Board of Health. He retired and moved to Florida in 2000. He was an avid golfer and bridge player and a member of the Intervale and Manchester Country Clubs.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rachel Bailey George, grandson Theo Smalling, and sister Isabel Pellerin.
His family includes his daughter and son-in-law, Gayl and James Wilshire of Columbus, Ohio, daughter Shelley George of Tampa, FL, sister Agnes Bockmon, brother Edmond George, nieces Robin George, Donna Pellerin George and nephews Edmond II (Mikey) and Steven George all of NH and Steven Pellerin of Texas.
The funeral was held Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Our Lady of the Cedars Church, 140 Mitchell St. Committal prayers followed at St Joseph Cemetery in Bedford.
