Philip Joseph Soares, 70, of Manchester, NH died August 22, 2005 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Manchester, NH on November 19, 1934, the son of Antonio and Yvonne (Champagne) Soares. He was educated in the local school system and was a member of the first graduating class from Bishop Bradley High School.
Mr. Soares served 11 years in the US Navy and was a veteran of the Korean conflict.
He had been employed as a mechanic by Consumer Auto Repair.
He loved playing pool, fishing, throwing darts, and was an excellent dancer. He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church.
He was pre-deceased by 3 brothers: Antonio, John, and Raymond Soares.
Members of his family include his wife of many years, Sheila (Soucy) Soares of Manchester; 2 sons, Philip J. Soares Jr. of Manchester and Marc Soares of Francestown, NH; 4 step-children, Michael Regan, Lisa Michaels, Brian Regan, and Darren Couturier, all of Manchester; many grandchildren; 3 brothers, Arthur Soares and Manuel Soares, both of Manchester, and Richard Soares of Barnstead; 4 sisters, Violet Lauziere of Manchester, Cecile Tickler of Manchester, Mary Ann Soares of Manchester, and Linda Longway of Manchester; many nephews and nieces.
After cremation, a memorial mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Patrick Church on Friday August 26, 2005. Encryptment followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
