Rachel Chase Darling, 90, of Hooksett, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on March 8, 2025. She was born to Elmina (Eaton) and Roger Chase in Royalston, MA, on December 21, 1934.
Prior to her retirement, Rachel worked for many years at Simplex Time Recorder Company in Gardner, MA. She also spent time waitressing in many of the area restaurants.
In her retirement, Rachel found happiness in the warmth of Zephyrhills, FL, but her heart belonged to her family. She cherished every moment with them, particularly at the family camp on Laurel Lake in Erving, MA, where she had so many fun filled times with her loved ones.
Her zesty spirit shone through in the simple pleasures of life: dancing with a sweetheart, laughing and talking with friends, enjoying cocktails while sunbathing on the dock at camp, delicious desserts, but especially being with her family.
Rachel was a talented and gifted seamstress whose love for fashion was evident in all the outfits she made for her children, grandchildren and herself for all occasions, including numerous bridesmaid’s dresses and her daughters’ beautiful wedding gowns. She even made glamorous gowns and dresses for her girls’ Barbie dolls.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandi Carpenter and husband Tom, Robbie Neil and husband Ken, Joe Moulton and wife Maria. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Melissa and (Tony) Izor, Sara and (Dave) Freer, Ethan and (Jess)Neil, Laura and (Matt) Vitagliano, Kayli Neil, Chad and Devan Moulton; step grandsons, Thomas and Jacob Berry; great grandchildren, Caleb, Cameron, Braden, Luca and Hannah Claire. Also surviving are her daughter in law Sheila, a niece JoEllen and nephews Bill Jr. and Geoff.
She was predeceased by her son, Gary Whitney, her parents, her brother William Chase Sr., and nephew Mark.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 207 Hemlock St, Manchester, NH, on Monday March, 31 2025 at 12:00 pm. The Rite of Committal will be held at Lawrence Brook Cemetery in Royalston, MA at a later date.
