Rachel Morrissette

Sister Rachel Morrissette, 64, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, St. Joseph Residence, Manchester, NH died at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester on December 27, 2010.

A native of Berlin, NH, she was born on November 27, 1946, the daughter of the late Philippe and Marie-Anna (Bosa) Morrissette.

She entered the Order of the Sisters of the presentation of Mary in Hudson, NH in 1966 and made her First Profession in 1968 and Final Profession in 1973.

Sr. Rachel received her Bachelor Degree in education and Master's Degree in School Administration from Rivier College in Nashua, NH.

Sr. Rachel was a dynamic educator serving as a teacher in New Hampshire and Rhode Island Catholic Schools. She served a principal at Catholic Regional Schools in Woonsocket, RI and at PMA in Hudson, NH.

As an administrator, she held the position of Provincial Councilor and in 2000 she was appointed Provincial Assistant, a position she held until July of this year.

She was a member of the Rivier College Board of Trustees. She will be remembered as a dedicated, caring and joyful person.

Family members include a sister, Sr. Cecile Morrissette, pm, of Hudson, NH; a brother, Roger and sister-in-law Jackie (Carignan) Morrissette of Shelburne, NH; sister-in-law Phyllis (Rooney) Morrissette of Berlin, NH; aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Arthur.

The funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, January 3, 2011 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial was in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery in Hudson.
