Rachelle M. (Brodeur) (Prince) Lacasse, 93, of Claremont, died April 27, 2017 at Catholic Medical Center following period of declining health.
She was born in Claremont on October 29, 1923, the tenth of thirteen children to Napoleon and Josephine (Francoeur) Brodeur. She graduated from St. Mary Grammar School and St. Mary High School in 1942 and was a lifelong resident of Claremont.
Rachelle worked at Ideal Laundry for many years before going to work in various shoe shops in the Claremont area. She also worked for over 34 years for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor VT, retiring in 1983 with a perfect attendance record.
She was a member of St. Mary Parish and belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne at that parish.
She was always helping others, volunteering her time at the Soup Kitchen and knitting blankets and bonnets for newborns for the local hospitals.
She was predeceased by her first husband of 22 years, John G. Prince in 1968; her second husband of 40 years, whom she married in 1975, Rene Lacasse in 2015 and 11 brothers and sisters.
Members of her family include her daughter, Suzanne M. Prince of Litchfield; her son, Philip E. Prince of Manchester; her three step daughters, Mrs. Ann Brown of Lowell MA, Mrs. Phyllis Murphy of Maine and Mrs. Judith Couture and her husband, Paul, of Claremont; her three step sons, Daniel Lacasse and his wife, Louanne, of Unity, Anthony Lacasse of Boston MA, and Andrew Lacasse and his wife, Tiffney of Canaan; 11 step-grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren; a sister, Marcelle LaCasse of Charlestown and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at St. Mary Church, Central Street, Claremont. Burial followed in St. Mary Cemetery, Plains Road, West Claremont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Claremont Soup Kitchen, 53 Central St., Claremont, NH 03743.
