Ralph L. Perras, 73, of Manchester, died February 13, 2002, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born in Manchester, September 26, 1928, he was the son of Arthur E. and Irene (Dupont) Perras. He was a lifelong resident of this city.
He graduated from Central High School in 1947. He later served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Perras worked 40 years in automotive parts sales. He began at Bolen & Garfield, then worked many years at International Harvester and also Demers Truck Center.
He enjoyed jazz music, playing the drums, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Family members include his wife of 48 years, Pauline B. (Townsend) Perras of Manchester; 3 daughters, Colleen Walrath, Cheryl Healy, and Shani Valliers, all of Manchester; a son, Steven M. Perras of Pittsfield; his mother of Manchester; 8 grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Johnson of Manchester; nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were Friday, 2/15/02 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, 2/16/02, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
