Raymond E. Demencuk, Sr.

Raymond E. Demencuk, Sr., 90, of Hooksett, died August 17, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

            Born in Hooksett, NH on January 18, 1933, he was the son of Horidy and Anna (Tyczynska) Demencuk.  He was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and was also in the ROTC.  Following college he was a Captain in the US Army.

            Ray loved being a father, grandfather and great grandfather and cherished time spent with his family.  He loved his life in retail starting out as an assistant manager in the toy department for King’s Department Store in the 1960’s and worked his way up the ladder to being Regional Manager for King’s and finished his career with Stuart’s Department Stores.  His big passion after retirement was yard sales, and boy did he have some great one.  He also enjoyed raising Huskies and American Eskimo dogs.  He loved refurbishing furniture, fishing (regular and ice), remodeling he and his wife Jeanne’s home and working in his large vegetable gardens.

            He was predeceased by his wife Jeanne of 68 years, son Stephen Demencuk and daughter-in-law, Cindy Demencuk.

            Family members include one daughter, Diane Galvin and husband Kenneth of Derry, NH two sons, Raymond E. Demencuk Jr. of Merrimack, Marc Demencuk of Hooksett; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Cassie, Sarah, Matthew, Shannon and Zoie; four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Denny, Cooper and Cole.

            Visiting hours will be Wednesday August 23rd from 9 to 10:30 am followed by a funeral service at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, Manchester.  Burial will be in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Bedford.
