Raymond N. St. Gelais, 76, of Bedford died March 25, 2004 in his residence after a long illness.
Born in Manchester on May 25, 1927, he was the son of Leopold J. and Diana (Carrier) St. Gelais. He lived in Manchester for many years before moving to Bedford 27 years ago.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. St. Gelais worked for Chicopee Mills in Manchester for 28 years and was self employed for 15 years. He later worked at Workplace Systems in Londonderry for nine years.
He was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He also enjoyed gardening.
The family includes his wife of 51 years, Pauline (Huard) St. Gelais of Bedford; five children, Muriel E. Duhaime of Hooksett, Richard L. St. Gelais and Diane E. Duhaime both of Manchester, Donald A. St. Gelais of Milford and Joanne M. Connelly of Bedford; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Robert St. Gelais of Miami, FL; one sister, Theresa St. Gelais of Manchester; cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday March 27, 2004 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
