Raymond H. Grenier, 84, of Manchester, died November 12, 2004, at the Laurel Center-Genesis Eldercare Network in Bedord, after a long illness.
Born in Manchester, July 24, 1920, he was the last of ten children of Alfred and Nellie (Denoncourt) Grenier. He had been a member of St. Edmond Parish.
He served in the US Marine Corps during WW II and saw action in Japan and at Guadalcanal.
Mr. Grenier owned and operated gas stations in Manchester at Union and Willow, and at Maple and Somerville streets. He retired in 1982 from Manchester Transit Authority, where he worked for 18 years. After his retirement he spent winters in Florida
He was predeceased by a son Ray,in 1955, and his first wife Rolande (Lessard) Grenier in 1966.
Family members include his wife Jeannette (Thibodeau) Grenier, of Manchester; two daughters, Annette Saulnier of Merrimack, and Elaine Dionne of Bedford; 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, November 15, 2004 at Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelly St., Manchester.
Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
