Raymond R. Guillemette, 82, of Hooksett, died July 3, 2024 at Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center after a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester on October 13, 1941 to George and Dora (Morrissette) Guillemette. He grew up in Manchester and graduated from Bishop Bradley High School. He later lived in Hooksett for many years, then in Spring Lake, NC for 10 years before to returning to Hooksett.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves, then was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis in 1961. He was discharged later that year as an Army veteran.
Raymond worked at Associated Grocers for many years and Easter Seals Child Care for 10 years. He retired in 2003.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union and a former member of the Elks Club. He enjoyed attending services at the Precious Blood Monastery in Manchester. He also enjoyed ice fishing, hunting and playing solitaire.
He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Jacqueline (Chaput) Guillemette in 1992 and two siblings, Maurice Guillemette and Doris Andrikowick.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pauline (Labrie) Guillemette of Hooksett; two sons, Gary Guillemette and his wife, Andrea, of Goffstown and James Guillemette and his wife, Blendaly, of Huntsville, AL; four grandchildren, Steven, Gillian, Joshua and Abigail; two great grandchildren, Connor and Aubrey and his brother, Robert Guillemette and his partner, Karen Scholth of Atkinson; and nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Friday (7/5) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (7/6) at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 21 Main St., Hooksett. Committal prayers will follow at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
