Raymond J. Savoie, 92, of Hooksett, died September 24, 2004, at Maple Leaf Health Care Center, after a brief illness.

Born in Manchester, May 26, 1912, he was the son of Joseph H. and Elizabeth (Fredette) Savoie. He lived in Manchester many years and had been a Hooksett resident since 1991.

Mr. Savoie worked as a machinist in the shoe industry and had worked for J.F. McElwain Shoe Co for several years and for United Shoe Machine Co.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 92, and a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood. In addition he was a member of the Intervale and Derryfield Country Clubs.

Family members include a son, Ronald R. Savoie of Hooksett; a daughter, Elizabeth Mehlhorn of Hampton; 5 grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Boisvert of Manchester, and Doris Wheeler of Johnson, R.I.; nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held Tuesday September 28, 2004 in the funeral home. Encryptment followed in Mount Calvary Mausoleum.
