Born in New York, NY on December 12, 1924, he was the son of Raymond and Agnes (White) Seidel. He grew up in New York City and was a graduate of Bronx High School. He later had two years of electrical field training at the Devry Institute in Chicago, IL and the New Hampshire Technical Institute.
He served in the US Army Air Corps and the US Air Force from 1946 to 1949 and attained the rank of Sergeant. He lived in Manchester for many years.
Mr. Seidel worked as a licensed industrial electrician for Nashua Corporation for many years.
He served as a Manchester Police Commissioner and as a member of the board of directors for the Germanic Association. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5260.
He enjoyed reading, traveling, sports and ballroom dancing.
The family includes his wife of 57 years, Claire A. (Boudreau) Seidel of Manchester; three daughters, Kathy Seidel-Slango of Auburn, Joyce Doucet of Londonderry and Marie MacPherson of Portland, OR; three grandchildren and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, June 13, 2008 at St. Pius X Church, corner of Candia Rd. and Sarto St., Manchester. Committal prayers with military honors followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
