Regina Z. (Letourneau) (Tremblay) Poirier, 98, of Manchester, died November 24, 2004 at a local health care facility after a brief illness.
She was born in Turner's Falls, MA on March 26, 1906, the daughter of Alfred and Anna (Dubois) Letourneau. Other than spending a few years later in life in Mt. Dora, Florida, she had lived in the Manchester area since the age of 4 years.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed as a nurse's aid at Notre Dame Hospital. She also worked in the hospital's central supply department. She later worked for Talbot's Catering.
She was a member of Les Coeurs Joyeux and Dames de St. Anne of Sacred Heart Parish.
Her great love of God and prayer was exemplary. Her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Harborside Healthcare and was very gifted in all types of crafts. Because of her friendly smile and caring ways, she was loved by all who knew her. She was pre-deceased by 3 brothers Henry Latourneau, Eugene Latourneau, and Noel Latourneau.
Her first husband, Henri R. Tremblay died in 1969 and her second husband, Rodrique Poirier died in 1981.
Members of her family include three sons Robert G. Tremblay of Summerfield, FL, Maurice A. Tremblay of Manchester, and Roland Tremblay of Hampton, NH; three daughters, Yvonne Beauvais of Goffstown, Lucille Provencher of Manchester, and Irene Duval of Goffstown; 26 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Yvonne Lavoie of Bedford, Estelle Roussel of Athol, MA, and Claire Casey of Nashua; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated in the Parish of the Transfiguration on Monday November 29, 2004. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
