Reginald E. "Reggie" Simoneau, 95, of Manchester, died November 18, 2018 at Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center after a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester on May 10, 1923 to Edward and Laura (Saindon) Simoneau. He attended the Austine School for the Deaf in Brattleboro, VT and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Reggie worked briefly at the Mt. Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods and Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut. He then worked in the grocery business for many years with Grand Union Champagne's, Alexander's Supermarkets and Hannaford Supermarkets, retiring at the age of 91.
He was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 5112 in Goffstown.
Reggie was an avid hockey player and enjoyed watching the Red Sox and visiting Hampton Beach.
The family includes his wife of 65 years, Jeannine Y. (Legault) Simoneau of Manchester; four children, Francine J. Lafond and life-partner, Carol Lamoureux, of Allenstown, Denise L. Simoneau and Michael J. Simoneau and life-partner, Doris St. Pierre, all of Manchester and Gisele S. White and fiancé, Michael Bussiere and his daughter, Taylor Bussiere, all of Bow; five grandchildren, Norman Lafond Jr, Jonathan Simoneau, Chelsey Simoneau, Andrew White and Alexander White; three great great grandchildren, Adam Lafond, Harper Lafond and Hailey Lafond; a sister, Jeanne Messier of Bedford; cousins, one niece and one nephew.
A Catholic funeral ceremony was held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. After cremation, private interment will be at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum in Manchester.
