Renald L. LaRochelle

October 19, 1922 — April 9, 2011

Renald L. LaRochelle, 88, of Manchester died April 9, 2011, surrounded by his family, in St. Petersburg, FL after a period of declining health.

He was born in Manchester on October 19, 1922 to Romeo and Eugenie (Talbot) LaRochelle. He lived in Manchester for most of his life and in Clinton, NY for 16 years.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy on board the USS Terry as a Chief Machinist Mate.

Mr. LaRochelle worked for Leighton Machine Company of Manchester and Barclay Knitware of Waterville, NY for many years. He later operated his own consulting business.

He was a former member of the Pius 10th Institute and was instrumental in introducing the Cursillo Movement in New Hampshire.

He enjoyed flying airplanes and was a flight instructor. He also enjoyed photography and was an amateur radio and computer enthusiast. He was a member of the American Legion and a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

His first love was time spent with his family.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Lavoie) LaRochelle in December 2010, and by a daughter, Delores LaRochelle in 1948.

IN HIS LIFE: The family includes six children, Paul LaRochelle and his wife, Eleni Blioumi, of Manchester, Patricia Gamache and her husband, Richard, of Goffstown, David LaRochelle and his wife, Melany, of Gettysburg, PA, Marc LaRochelle and his wife, Lisa, of Goffstown, Theresa Bullard and her companion, Daniel Blais, of Hooksett and John LaRochelle of Pownal, VT; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Roger LaRochelle and his wife, Lillian, of St. Petersburg, FL and Robert LaRochelle and his wife, Carmelle, of Manchester; four sisters, Bertha Bourque and her husband, Jean Paul, of Manchester, Theresa Bourque, of Connecticut, Jacqueline Lessard of Chicoutimi, Quebec and Susan Audy of Connecticut and Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, April 16, 2011 at St. Joseph Cathedral, corner of Pine and Lowell streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
